Who won, the russian who stayed in there for the longest but died. Or the Finn who was dragged out shaking but survived? Edit: ohh nvm the russian cheated.
Sitting in a 110°c sauna for a few minutes is really not that bad. I myself have been in 120°c a couple of times for a few, maybe ten minutes at a time, but what's different in the competition is that every 30 seconds, 0.5 liters of water is dumped on the rocks. I cannot take more than maybe one scoop of water in such temperatures. The water amplifies the feeling of heat many times over, and makes breathing damn near impossible. One of the russian competitors explained once, that they need to time their breathing precisely, because you cannot breathe for some 10-20 seconds after the water hits.

The russian man used numbing lotion and pain killers the Finnish guy timo kaukanen didnt and he won. We can be some stubborn people here.
