I was in 100-120 celsius barrel sauna last night for over 3 hours. Kept both air vents closed. Of course i had beer and didn't throw that much löyly, which makes the huge difference. Regular sauna night, it makes you sleep tight. FIN

If you're friends with the Finns you go in the sauna. If you're enemies with the Finns you go behind the sauna.
110C° aint much, but they throw water at the kiuas at steady paste. That makes it unhuman.
The russian guy was on some pain meds or something that was detected later and that's part of the reason he didn't stop when he should have. The finnish guy had won the competition for many years before and just decided not to lose. I beleave it also comes down to a pride thing since it's against russian because of the history.
