I have lived 50 years in Mexico, born and raised, I have an average (to use some kind of metric) of around 700 to 1,000 social medial contacts that pretty much the persons I grew up with, so I form part the another person 700 to 1,000 average, I hope you get the point, we will get to that at the end ….and I have been on contact specifically with all of these people and we discover that there is quite a big difference between concepts or descriptions, for example:

    They say in the USA that we inn Mexico have violence, and poverty because our democracy is weak , so with honesty a took a closer look and compared theses matters from one country to another, and I saw, starting with democracy, two things and maybe there are more, first your vote is not effective, your vote is represented , that means that the majority does not elect, the result of this is that you can have elections (if you can call them that ) where the losing candidate has more votes, this does not make sense, secondly your president is above the law, and there is a law that gives him impunity, simple, so our system is the opposite our vote is effective and our president is subject to the full force of the law.

    Then on the topic of violence and the perception of violence, I again saw that in the USA you can killed by no fault of your own, in an unexpected and totally unrelated manner of you go to a church, to a movie theater, a gay nightclub, to a yoga class, to a synagogue, to municipal workers gathering, or to a country music concert in the middle of the desert, also and more importantly there is a good chance your children can get killed, injured seriously or at least traumatized, by going to school at any level, kindergarten, elementary, High school because of the constant massacres occurring in those places etc. that made me remember that a just few years you had persons stealing airplanes full of people and deliberately crashing them against buildings also full of people in broad daylight, I said to myself it must be hard to live in a world like that, wouldn't you say these matters that I stated define your society as very violent, aren't these actions violence , and what is worst it is against innocent people, people who are just not related to violence, children, people of religion, persons having a good time, that is violence. Over here there are also people being killed but there is a characteristic that is almost 100% present, and by no means it is a justification of the violence, the victims or persons killed , kidnapped or tortured were all related to, and very aware of their relation, to criminal activities, some victims even by no fault of there own where related as family, very few of the deceased where let's say innocents in the cross fire.

    Last point, perception of violence, during 2016 and 2017, there where more than 500 hundred persons killed and around 2,000 injured in a series of random acts of senseless violence in Europe, from airports, to stadiums, from concerts, to supermarkets and cafeterias, shot , bombed, run over by stolen vehicles or simply stabbed, these where not victims of criminal activities, this was terrorism all in Europe, one act every 60 days on average for two years… not once the USA warned its citizens not to travel or to travel with caution to Europe, not once… why did they did not perceive this as violence? or this was not violence?

    Of the amount of persons that can be obtain out of the network of social media contacts from my life of 50 years in Mexico, which is around a million persons, I could not locate any of them who came from very wealthy families, most of them came from middle class families, which means that they had to work and lived in an active society, finally one very curious fact: none of these people had experienced any violence what so ever in their household and family on these past fifty years. None, not a single, shot, nor kidnap not even a street robbery.

    In my perspective the inaccuracies and frankly with all due respect the handling of the definitions of what is violence and also how can your protect your self from it in the USA towards Mexico, are quite twisted or lest say at least conveniently different from what is supposed to be, and since some persons have a bigger microphone than others, the stories that the bigger ones describe are the ones being considered a true, and that is really unfair, really, I hope you can consider my point of view, I hope you find it objective and true.
