Infinite Plane History.
The infinite plane (Flat Earth) model is a modern conception of Earth’s indefinite dimensions, possibly as a contiguous plane, with many possible extra-terrestrial (other worldly) yet undiscovered continents/ worlds beyond Earth’s encompassing (Antarctic) ‘ice belt’, which contains all of Earth’s oceans.
Although most pre-Socratics (6th–5th century BC) retained the flat Earth model. In the early fourth century BC Plato wrote about a spherical Earth and by about 330 BC his former student Aristotle provided the apparent evidence for the spherical shape of the Earth, claiming 'empirical' grounds.
Belief in the spherical Earth gradually began to spread beyond the Hellenistic world from then on.
Through the ages, many cultures have subscribed to an infinite plane cosmography, including Greece, most adopted the level plane Ptolemaic model as laid out by Claudius Ptolemy 100-170 AD which continued four centuries after his death and the death of flat Earth astronomer Tycho Brahe 1546 – 1601.
Since then, present day cosmologists, having previously accepted the idea of a spherical Pythagorean Earth , have now accepted that with a local, vastly scaled down, sun and moon in Earth orbit (as all empirical evidence suggests), Pythagoras’ and Eratosthenes’ theories could practically apply to an infinite plane Earth.
Despite the present claim of Earth's sphericity to be scientific fact, all practical modern
tests (unbiased by presupposition – including extreme long distance photography and laser
tests) indicate that pseudo-scientific methods were employed to unjustifiably conclude Earth’s sphericity.
Consequently, Infinite Plane, Flat Earth (dome world) and Globe Lie conspiracy analyses are gaining popularity and traction by being espoused increasingly by curiously unaffiliated individuals using social media.
