I have found that when an explanation is complicated, it is usually wrong. Jesus was the best Bible teach of all history. So often for any question or situation He would answer: "It is written." -'Because you believed me not, to sanctify (honor, reverence, exalt, speak well of) me in the eyes of the children of Israel, therefore you shall NOT bring this congregation into the land which I have given them."—-So how did Moses NOT sactify God? vs 8 God tells Moses to speak unto the rock and He God would GIVE WATER TO ISRAEL AND TO THEIR ANIMALS. God answers in a GRACEFUL way that He would give them water. But Moses, being God's servant, representative says to the people.-vs10—"Hear now, you rebels: Must we fetch you water out of the rock?"–Moses was sngry. God was not angry.
