Just to clarify, the main reason why anyone should go vegan is climate change. Our food choices have one of the biggest impacts on climate. I'm reading somewhere that if everyone in the world went vegan, food related contribution to climate change would drop by 70% by 2050. And considering the food industry is accountable for 26% or so of carbon emissions, this would be quite a big step in the right direction. It could also solve world hunger and of course we wouldn't have to harm animals anymore… Yet I'll be eating meat for a while. I'm just enjoying the ride until we get cultured meat cheaply available to the public. But I am really thankful of most vegans. Some of them might behave like lunatics that bother everyone they've just met, but their efforts will help to hopefully make it possible for my future children to have a snowy christmas with me.
I don't agree with everything Joe says in his podcasts but I respect him because he's listening to people and is able to change his opinion if the points that were made make sense. Not everybody is flexible and willing enough to do so.
And always remember that there are three types of vegans. 1. the one who's main reason is health, 2. the one who's main reason is the environment and 3. the one who's main reason are animal rights and ethics. And they all will debate completely different. I'm the third one. I give a shit about health somehow, I love junk food once in a while and I never was into sports. I just think if I can chose wether I literally pay someone else to raise an animal in poor conditions and kill it OR just chose something else that doesn't involve all of that, why should I chose the more cruel option? I think the pleasure of a certain taste has no higher value than the life of an animal. Pretty easy to understand I guess.
It's like: I really would love to punch some people in their stupid face, but I don't do it because I don't like violence if there is another way. 😅
