Goliath was around 9'9" tall. Young David was able to lift and use Goliath's sword to cut off the large man's head. If Goliath were 20' tall, no man (except Samson) could lift it. I keep Scripture direct to the text, adding a fairlytale twist is ridiculous. And before anyone tries to crawl up my armpit about this, a 9'9" tall armored warrior is pretty extreme and would have been terrifying in combat, the average man of that time was 5'6" to 5'8". Goliath was enormous (3 feet taller than the pro wrestler The Undertaker). No fairytale fluff needed, the Scriptural truth is impressive enough as-is.
