@ 3:52 I believe the reason televised events are so crucial to the outcome of elections. Is that unfortunately, we have seen a huge lack of voting taken place in the younger generations & the ones that do, are generally following their parent's candidate choice. Which puts the age groups of those who vote, are most likely still watching televised programs.
Its like having a vote on something that will impact your lives, being sent a letter regarding the date and time of the vote. Meanwhile the news media outlets, radio broadcast and social media sites are talking non stop about a huge fair ground thats coming into town that same day & tickets are free.
In reality, the people benefiting from the vote that is taken place that same day. Paid the fairground company to come that day, paid for massive ammounts of media coverage & local advertisements. You lose, because you allowed others to influence your own ability to think for yourself. Instead of using the same access of information to your own benifit.
@ 3:09 Hell no, they would never allow it. Those News Media Outlets are arguebly the #1 cause to the growing divide in our country today. The news media used to have moral oblications to the truth. Now its often used to mislead & misinform the american people. They push narratives to fit their own agendas or redirect the attention of the publics eyes from more important matters.
It blows my mind, how lazy society has became. When it comes to fact checking & researching topics before forming their own "opinion" on certain topics. The introduction/creation of the World Wide Web & its increasingly ease of access to information should have ushered us into a future of umimaginable gains in society. With a large increase in overall average intellect. Instead, we have kids using the internet to watch 30 sec videos & allowing Social Media to set the narrative and opinions of easily influenced minds who are generally biased with information because their lack of verifying information. Its just laziness and their attention spans are getting drastically shorter
