  1. I worked at Meadowlark Lake Lodge in the Bighorn Mountains in Wyoming about 15 years ago….400+ acre lake made by the CCC that is stocked with fish and you can get some really good fishing in there…..during the summer. By September it was already starting to freeze over and by late October we (stupidly, I dont need to hear it lol) drove a truck over the lake. Actually, one of my friends like to go out and do donuts and stuff on the ice on the lake in the winter. I personally dont like water all that much….I will go swimming, but not in that lake…..which was why I was up in the mountains at almost 9k ft elevation. I always thought that was reckless, but "to each his own" I guess.

No way you could get through that ice to get to the fish. No one ever actually tried despite having trophy sized fish in the lake.

  2. I wanna do this soo badly. I'm not even an outdoorsman but I think we all have this innate desire to be in the wilderness away from cities and hundreds of thousands of people. I just don't wanna be anywhere id need to deal with winter. Something like Tennessee or Alabama where winter isn't 10 below zero. Not forever or anything, but a year or 2 would be perfect. I'd bring all the modern equipment I'd need like fishing poles, rifles, saws, knives etc. Not the extreme only an axe and what fits in a backpack bullshit. We all need to get away from this insane drive for money as if money is the only thing important in life. This money deception is at an all time high, because of the internet and music compared to just 30 years ago when money couldn't get a man a hot woman if he offered 1 million dollars. Women actually valued themselves and thinking u could buy a woman with anything less than a billion dollars woulda been an insult. Today women will sleep with anyone who makes 20k a month or more. When 1% of the population just hoards 90% of all the money and then forces the rest of us, the 99% to fight over the 10% they allow into circulation is craziness. If the 1% just spent 40% of that hoarded money and put it into circulation it would completely change the lives of every single American. 50% of millionaires inherit an average of 5 million dollars. That doesn't mean the other half came from nothing. They coulda inherited 1 million or 500k. It's like 1-3% of all millionaires came from nothing, from a truly poor family. It's the biggest lie that u just need to work hard and u can become rich. That's the trick rich people convinced poor people to believe to get them to work 12 hours a day for pennies, while their employer made millions. If an American makes anything less than 5k a month after taxes he is a slave, because he doesn't earn enough to provide a normal middle class life for his family. Spending 5k a month is just barely enough to raise 2 kids and provide for a wife. $100 a day in food for 4 people, 1500 for mortgage and 500 for car payments. It's literally just enough to get by pay check to pay check.
