idk if your guilty of a crime seems like a positive way for the worst of the worst to contribute a positive back to society. jail shouldn't be a free ride, everyone should be made to work to pay for everything given to them while in jail.
1% of Americans are in jail, most of them are black, and they're all manufacturing their unpaid hearts out while serving life sentences for returning videos late, stealing a bag of chips, or smoking a little weed.
It is total slavery — the means to perpetuate slavery was created 2 years after the Civil War (1865) which was called "The Black Codes" which enabled local authorities to imprison freedmen for minor infractions in order to put them back to work as slaves, but under the title of prisoner.

Reparations shouldn’t be followed through by giving out money they should be followed through with by giving Black people grants and free passes and industries that directly used harmed or killed Black people like education healthcare and real estate. No money should be given out but there should be a lot of stuff that Black people are getting for free because generationally it has been withheld from them
