  1. I called my state trooper's HQ and I spoke with the commercial driving dept; I asked him how many accidents are due to people being on cellphones; He couldn't give me an answer; He said people don't report being on the cellphone when driving. He did list off other distractions that would make a truck driver or commercial driver get into an accident. That is why all truck drivers have to wear headgear

  2. Joe, you do know that the prisons have become privatized. So right after that happened, tons of people were arrested for drug crimes, from prescription to illegal. Young people, got arrested for a tiny roach, or the drug paraphernalia they smoked pot in. People who didn’t have prescription narcotics or benzodiazepines in the bottle it came in, say one oxy, one Xanax or Valium, arrested and charged with possession, trafficking, or whatever else might stand in court. 2-5-10 year sentences, first time offenders, or having something from years past. It was bad for awhile. More people in jail, more money everyone gets.
Finally had some police, judges, prosecutors, and prison officials were caught working together to get more people in jail, and money was flowing into they’re pockets. People finally read their rights and started telling Leo’s no, I don’t consent to a search, or why did you pull me over, and stopped talking to them when it was obvious they’d be asking questions outside of the traffic stop, or looking in the car and saying they smelled weed.
Not all police officers were doing this, and usually it was just being polite and respectful.
One other thing I’m curious about with the homeless in Austin ( I don’t go there anymore, it’s disgusting and terrible to see) how can they say it’s cruelty, when none of them pay their taxes to the city? I’m not talking about sales taxes, but property and school taxes, fees, or other things cities do. I’m surprised this isn’t mentioned or discussed when someone is shitting on the sidewalk, littering, and all things that come from a huge homeless population. I feel for these people, but know most choose to live like that. I’m not sure about losing family being the main reason, most I’ve talked to had alcohol drugs, loss of income/home, and mental health problems. I have only known 1 who chose to get out of the homeless life. Personally I’ve been homeless for a year, didn’t like it, and got back on my feet. It sucks when you lose everything you own, and no family to fall back on close to where you are. Luckily I didn’t stay in Houston, went south back to hometown and the property we owned and was paid off. Brush, scrub and weeds. Better than a cold ass sidewalk.
