Cherokee heritage combined with Scott's Irish here. Tribes had to be barbaric and ruthless to an extent because that is exactly how their environment was. If it wasn't another tribe attempting to slaughter your whole area it was the Vikings doing so and the Viking's were said to be far more brutal and completely unforgiving.
SO…INDINS WERE DEMONS….?
Great book
Mark Twain started a book about a young girl that was captured by Natives. When he found out that they were often staked out and graped until they quit breathing he did not finish the book.
The early wars in the 1600s and early 1700s starting in New England were incredidibly brutal.Especially because there were so few whites.Personally,i believe the Souix and the Cheyenne were just as powerful and dominate as the Commanche but in the Northern plains.
