Maybe he was just loyal to kronos. Despite he knew of the coming downfall.
Just look at the history of Greece around 1400BCE. That’s when they started worshipping Zeus so if there was any indication before that of what the people believed or worshipped, that’s the titans.
Coeus's with his sister and consort Phoebe the Titaness had two daughters, Leto (who bore Apollo and his sister Artemis.) and Asteria, (a star goddess who bore one daughter, Hecate.)
Through the complancey and ignorance of the masses, a new system of governance will be laid upon the Earth. People will lose all hope and surrender to greed, the desire for mortality and civil war. The ground will shake and the worlds serpent will lunge from the ocean and bring the changing tides with it. The darkness will fall like ash and consume the Earth along with the souls of man.
