How dare you speak about this family when you have no idea exactly what happened to them. You have not done any research and I find it very disrespectful the way you spoke on the show about them. If you would bother to observe any of the videos, there were students from college that volunteer and come out in the summers to help her since she is now all alone. And no, they did not eat their mother during that time their crops had failed that year and that is why the mother would not eat so that her children would survive. It is a shame that you really know nothing about a Agafia and her family and yet you are so disrespectful of the family who left persecution of religious beliefs. While fleeing her uncle was killed. It was not a commune it was just their family.
Surprisingly i know a man from Siberia and he says Kansas winters are hands down worse than Siberia! There's no windchill in Siberia so a couple layers will easily keep you warm.
