  1. I like what he's doing but he's wrong about nuclear. A lot of longer-term deaths and massive costs of nuclear energy isn't properly assessed and industry attempts to keep it that way by ignoring and/or discounting long-term deaths. If he would dig deeper into it he'd realize his statement that more people die from solar is incorrect. It's all moot anyway. Nuclear is too expensive and that money is better spent on R&D into sustainable energy storage and making solar, wind, etc. more sustainable as well.

Nuclear will be phased out. Thorium reactors can theoretically work fine until actual humans have to manage them sustainably and the costs overwhelm the process. A lot of people from industry are flooding social media with industry hype and propaganda so I understand why so many on social media adopt that rhetoric and think nuclear is the answer. It isn't the answer and will be gradually phased out over time as more sustainable energy with vastly better decentralized energy storage continues to develop.

Research shows that sustainable energy storage is just around the corner despite the fact that the fossil fuel industry sucks up resources with massive subsidies to maintain their current, corrupt, unsustainable infrastructure. A Sanders administration will finally reverse this terrible trend — by putting money, resources and desperately needed research and development into a sustainable energy future via his GND plan.

Expand your research horizons. For every positive, glowing article that "helpfully" pops up to the top of your search engine results from SEO, try digging deeper into more sober research and critical analysis that's not propped up to be easily found in Google, Bing, etc. — There you will find the truth instead of endless, industry hype and public relations pieces posing as articles and proper research.

This guy is smart and I wish more power to him in his pursuit to clean up plastics from the ocean, but he's dead wrong on nuclear.
