  1. Vegan diets done properly are superior to omnivore diets for athletes ESPECIALLY older athletes who benefit from the higher antioxidants and lower cholesterol and lower saturated fat.

  2. What I hate about this topic is that we’re grasping at straws. Saying you can eat meat, animal bi-products and be healthy is not the same as saying meat is healthy. It’s funny how we say fruits and vegetables are healthy for you, not that you can eat them and be healthy. And no I’m not a vegan but if I had the will power I would be. I currently eat meat 1 time, once a week and all my numbers greatly improved.

  3. Nutrition is relative when it comes to performance. Some people will do better on a plant based diet. Some will on a high carb, high red meat diet. Some will on a vegetarian diet. Heck depending on what one is training for they might utilize all 3 of those. I know because I have. If I’m training for an ultra marathon I’m eating wayyyy different than if I’m training for a triathlon.

  4. I'm 54, being vegan for 34 years now. I go to the gym every other day, I don't have any disease and feel full of energy. What's the problem with having a KIND and COMPASSIONATE diet?
