Every Kid needs at least one adult who puts that Kid above anything and anyone else, and lets the Kid know it by making sure they are safe and cared for.

I was abused as a child and all through out my childhood I was traumatized, I always wondered when my life would get better and the main thing people told me is that it wouldn't. I can't imagine where I'd be if I wasn't abused, It helped me realize everything that was important in life and also it taught me what was unacceptable. I'm in my freshman year of college and I'm only realizing now what life is all about and it took me being beat on a daily basis to figure that out. Honestly, If I could go back and have a happy childhood I wouldn't.
It's often not so much a single incident, but a long pattern of behavior over an extended time.
The only time Jesus ever mentions there is absolutely no hope for someone, "it would be better for you that you hadn't been born" he's talking about those who offend little children.
