  1. Speaking from 22 years of daily video games, I’m 24 btw. Video games have multiple benefits. They teach you strategy, creativity, problem solving, reaction time, hand eye coordination, and build your brain in a way that it uses those skills everyday. As far as building your mind I feel video games are better than their example of books. It’s a thing that you’re controlling and has many advanced mechanics and infinite outcomes. It takes a LOT of brainpower to play high pace competitive games.

  2. I get what you guys are saying, It is addictive and it is dangerous for some individuals. That’s why the PEGI rating system was created. It was created because some people couldn’t handle video games because it was too much for their brains. Some had problems separating games from reality, so now we have to prevent little kids from playing shooters.

I also agree on that video gaming to an excessive extent can retard a person’s social skills. Because they may have hurt mine, I also have a few symptoms of autism but perhaps that’s beside the point, since I don’t know for sure which of them inhibits my social skills.

I started playing Halo as an 8 year old but I think It wouldn’t have had any effect on me if I was shooting humans instead of aliens and monsters. If you know, you know. In fact, if you shoot at your own allies, which are human, you get crap for it. Your allies are gonna kill you for that 😄. Anyways, when I kept to my self and played my video games I was taking my mind off of school which was really hard for me. I got bullied a hell of a lot, cause I was a weird kid and they were mean and stupid, and didn’t know how to handle their own problems. But you guys do have a cause for concern I think. I identified with a lot of what you said. I have to say though that as a Swede I have an impressive English vocabulary thanks to my video games. But yeah, it can’t be utilized in the same way reading a whole bunch of books does. But it’s a whole lot more engaging than watching tv all day. And nowadays we can talk to each other online. So we still meet people and talk to them, in a way.

That’s just my…….200$. Get it? Because that long text was hardly just 2 cents.

  3. Video games are a great hobby. But i have to say u still should limit the playtime for a child till he/she is 13 or something like that. I know 3 guys i used to hangout with as a child/teen (about same age as me.) They had no limits to gaming as kids and the more they aged the more they started to spend time playing video games. I dont know what is the case with 2 of those nowadays but im still in contact sometimes with one of them. He literally cannot be outside for too long because he gets anxious and everytime we go inside he str8 up boots his gaming setup amd starts playing. This dude is 26 and havent worked a single day. He just stays home, playing video games cause he is too addicted and the saddest thing is that he pays it all from his mother's purse and social security.
