I think Bert "forgave" Ari for one reason: he knows Ari's thinking, "ok all these people hate me for dosing Bert, the only thing more hilarious would be doing it again, and upsetting people even more". Bert's trying to deescalate the situation by forgiving him. For Ari, it would be way "funnier" to dose a guy who's still pissed at him then do it to a guy who's forgiven him. Also notice two things that are missing from all the conversations these core guys have about this: 1) none of them say "if you every do this to me I'll kill you, or, 2) you can't ever do this again. I think this is intentional. These core guys know Ari well enough to know those two statements would basically guarantee Ari will do it again. It would be way too much of a challenge for Ari. Also notice at no point does Ari say he'll never do it again. He keeps saying that phrase, "it was a one time only thing". That's a weird way of just saying "never again". Feels like he's got his fingers crossed behind his back.
