  1. When the Israelites asked for a king, God told Samuel that they have not rejected him that is Samuel, but Him that is God. When David came along, it seemed like God has changed his mind. Or was it just the Israelites who conveniently forgot what God had told Samuel? If what God had said to Samuel, was the truth, then David was just another slap in God's face coming from the descendants of Juda. What is more, in the days of Samson, God used him to kill a lion when Samson was on his way to Timna. Could that be symbolic of God's regard for David? After all David being a descendant of Juda, was associated with the lion from the days of Israel's sojourn in Egypt. If we go even further, then it is interesting to know that the '8th king' in Revelation, that reigned only for a short while, but was never the less part of the other kings who were arrayed against the Christ, was also called David. Which brings me back to my question: was David really the person Jews and Christians are making of him, or is he just another conman in the arsenal of the Jewish and Christian faith, and in reality part of the antichrist?
