I started fasting 3 days ago and a I am beginner . Any tips or recommended fasting . I only eat in the evening a small meal like broccoli or a salad . From 8 in the morning to 6 o'clock in the evening no food .
The world has its agenda. God knows this agenda and everyone's probability of leaning to God or the world.
The position you are in is due to the probability of man. God talks to you by urging you to lean towards him. This changes the worlds probabilty of an outcome. The more you lean towards God and fast from the world the more likely we are to fulfill Gods plan. What if a dictator said we are now at war and the people said No! This is like Exodus. You walk away to a better place in your heart and mind. Its not easy as the world accuses you of abandoning the world principles. God shows you a better way and you have to persuade the body to follow. Christ wanted everyone to follow him. Their souls were not open enough to understand so they followed the body of mankind, each others opinion. This is why he waits for you. He waits until you are open enough to understand. He tolerates your sin because he knows you dont yet understand. This is the fasting he symbolically wants. Try going to work and not think a bad thought. Its impossible due to circumstances off others and yourself. But you can ignore bad thought. You can decide not accept the thought as true and not act on such thought. Jesus was tempted in the desert by such thought and overcame it. He overcame the collective thought of man and learnt to go beyond it. This is what Christ tried to teach Peter. Rather than sink into the collective thought and beliefs of man but instead rise above them and walk on them. As we day dream and loose concentration we fall into the worldly thought of politicians who have an agenda to dictate your thought and beliefs. Putting aside time to be alone with God means you start breaking the bonds of everyone elses thought so that you can ask for light to show you the real world and what you are within it. God is loving thought. We just need to join it and throw away unloving thought. This is not the love of have anything you want but the true love of a father son relationship of guidance and support in an unconnected world of Adam.
