  1. In life there is no such thing as doing it by yourself, good or bad. But, one of the things I unexpectedly enjoyed after losing every match for a year or two, was winning. Whether people are interested in you or not, if they are in the gymnasium they are kinda forced to watch you. When you're the only winner in the entire gymnasium for those few minutes, it's like being on top of the world.

  2. What about professional wrestling bouts? Meaning, a lot of people in UFC match up good for wrestling matches. Exhibitions like Jake Paul is doing. The guys all need to get paid. I see a lot of matches. Cain Velasquez V Brock Lesner, Khabib V GSP, Weidman V. Yoel Romero, Cejudo V Mighty Mouse. Injuries a rare to none. Any fighters who can't fight anymore can wrestle old school. It would be a draw. They are already doing this in BJJ. All the guys roll live in that sport. Nobody is paid. Khabib would jump in there. He'd be great to watch at any weight. As a wrestler Khabib is a tactician. Without the punching, he looks even better. Henry Cejudo is one of the best wrestlers of all time. Big guys are fun to watch because it is like 2 walruses scrambling.

You can make wrestling rules so that you have to pin your opponent, but still allow someone to fight off the back, no points until you are in pinning position. You can fight off the back and use BJJ to accomplish your goals. You're submission has to flatten your opponent's blades. Americana is a pin position. I guess we can let this be submission wrestling, no gi. There is no stopping for a bloody nose or a poked eye. If there is a little contact, no stopping. Striking shall be limited to cross face and moves that are meant to shove the body into position. The guys can shove each other. I don't know, but it sounds fun.

When I got to wrestling season after football season, it was like I was out of shape for the first month of practice. These guys were practicing wrestling hard for two hours and running 10 miles every day after practice. These were the guys who were winning the state championship 4 years in a row. I had a click of guys that were really awesome from 7th grade. We had a guy who could shoot in on a man from the handshake and be a deep shot in the blink of an eye. Frog like. He and a few others won every year.

  3. Wrestling stays with me forever. I was just an average wrestler, but it gave me confidence and pride as a skinny and insecure teen. Then in college I went through the darkest times of my life, through depression and suicidal thoughts, and the mental toughness kept me going and now I’m in medical school.
