The NBA thinks its just fine so….that's something!
I lived in China for a few years. I do not believe it is possible for Chinese people to change their system, even if they wanted to. And mainland people all believe the propaganda… they don't care that kids are getting beaten, shot, "disappeared," and tortured and murdered. They really actually don't care. Blows my mind…
Hong Kong sings our National Anthem, Iranian protesters respect our flag, Taiwan is waiting in the wings and Uncle Kim still has his hand extended. So Wass up.?
I disagree completely, China is so much different than the Eastern Block and USSR. The big difference is that economic ruin had to come before the communist block fell apart. China today is more about authoritianism than communism and as long as China remains growing and prosperous most people in a position to do something will not do it and actively support the government. All revolutions have to start with some sort of economic collapse. Many people today in China know about Tianamen square and they don't care. They have VPNs and acccess to western news but they still support the regime. Tianamen square is actually seen as not the government's fault but the West's fault for polluting the minds of Chinese with democratic ideas. I just dont see anything happening in a positive direction without some great economic collapse.
