The ACLU fell apart after Glasser left. It’s now a laughable caricature with no sense of its foundational principles. However nutty some of its campaigns were, it used to be a principled and focussed group. Not any more.
Glasser made sense until he started going off about Trump supporters being bigots and racists
Very simply put, be careful what you wish for because after you succeed in limiting someone else's speech…you're next. Look at what happens to the people supporting cancel culture. So many examples of people who cheered social media bans getting banned and canceled. Sure it took a few years but it came back around and landed on them.
Watch the whole interview. This dude is delusional.
With the exception of yelling 'fire' in a crowded theater and other public safety-related bans, NO speech should ever be banned. The principle of free speech is foundational to America. Dont like that? Turn it off, walk out, log out or immigrate to another country where freedom is valued less than your precious fewwings.
But be careful what you wish for.
