I agree! It's so closed-minded for the people who have spent thousands of hours studying this shit to ask for some kind of testable prediction or proof of his crackpotty What-Ifs. (Ok, he's a fancy guy, let even call them "hypotheses consistent with available data") … of COURSE there probably are, were, or will be lots of aliens, I would just bet a majority of us (we?) science-interested people can reason that one out. Does he offer proof or a way to find out whether this particular object is evidence of that? nope. but, you say, he's the chair of the astro dept at Harvard, that proves… shit, with most JRE listeners that shouldn't carry a ton of weight, should it? He can't convince his colleagues he's doing anything noteworthy, so he appeals directly to the public, and his babble sounds slightly better than Geordi so we buy it. I mean, hey, it's a theory.
