I think what frustrates Mexicans so much is because we know our country has the potential to be a strong country but our government fails us at every turn.
I mean every Mexican is hardworking because that's just how we're raised and taught. You rest when you're old. You work hard for your family, community and your country (Partía or motherland).
Our country has a lot of resources, good geographic location. Young and big population.
But our government literally doesn't care about the avg person. You never realize that until you actually live in Mexico. Other countries politicians actually at least try to better the country. Ours doesn't. Every election its just either this corrupt fucker or that corrupt fucker (both under investigation for corruption). Both make promises to finally push us out of this stagnation we're in, to end the war etc.
Its just frustrating beyond believe to see you're country going to shit but knowing if only we had a decent government we'd be completely different. That's why we leave the country. Because our work doesn't count for shit in Mexico. But in other countries it does. We know if we work hard we're actually moving forward and contributing toward something there.
The saying is true. The biggest enemy of a Mexican is another Mexican.
