This story is weird and disturbing.
1) are you saying a prophet of God, Abraham committed adultery? And he was convinced to do so by a woman?
2) the timeline is all wrong
3) are you saying a woman sarah outsmarted God and changed God’s intentions
4) in all this story Abraham looks dumb and naive and easily manipulated
5) and after all these lying and manipulating and disobedience God still rewarded Sarah with a Child?
This is the muslim version;
Sarah was barren and Abraham for all his faith really wanted a child and prayed for one. So when his loving wife sarah so this she suggested to Abraham to consider marrying Hagar, Abraham loved sarah and didn’t accept at first and sarah insisted and Abraham married hagar and after a while a son was born Ishmael. Abraham loved his son and was really attached to him. Sarah felt like all women feel, that she also wanted a son of her son with Abraham.
Although sarah didn’t show outwardly this feeling, God knew best. And God also wanted to test Abraham. So he ordered Abraham to take Hagar and a fee months old Ishmael to a location in the middle of the desert and leave them there. And Abraham followed God’s command and did so. That area today we call it Makkah.
And God allowed Abraham to see his son from time to time as he grew up and then the ultimate test for Abraham comes. God commands him to sacrifice his son.
This test is teach later generations that always God comes first and also having patience and putting your trust in God.
And when Abraham fulfilled the command of God, by attempting to sacrifice Ishmael. God rewarded Abraham by allowing him to keep Ishmael and also rewarding him with Isaac as a gift.
