One isn't Born Again by rejecting the Devil and asking Jesus into our lives, @Grace Digital network, it comes because one has believed that Jesus lived "the way, truth and life" he told us to follow as written in the Bible. Then one has to completely surrender their lives to God's control that they obey his teachings in Matthew 19:29 & John 3:3-8 as the Gospels say Jesus did at age 12.
The reason it's called Born Again is because of man's evection from Eden. Since it, all man are Born in and of the world of covering ourselves with manmade goods, living in houses, eating processed by man food and believing the teachings of man that separates us from the environmental life of the remaining beings of God's Creation. By doing that, man's thought and actions are changed from "me, my and I" into "how do I live in partnership with all life and the earth." That what it means to be Born Again, "to return to environmental living" and takes an act of God giving us the will to live it.
