When someone is close to God those that are not, surround him forming what seems like a dark cloud or cloak of darkness. This is because they dont want to see the truth and dont want other people to see their poor quality of thought. They would compare a good thought against a poor thought. However. Those that try to conceal the truth by attacking find themselves highlighting truth by attacking it. To focus on something gives thought energy. Poor thought gives energy by focusing on what it dislikes. This why it was said to not worry. Do not give energy to poor thought. The servant guided the army. The army was in the darkness of their own thought and followed the light of good thought. It led them to true thought. They were not killed but fed with the true thought of God. They left with understanding and friendship.
A man who attacks a good person only attacks himself. He makes himself look even worse than he was before. These thoughts will attack his mind until he gives up and changes or will continue until he he spiritually does. God does not want us to die.
Moses put people who thought badly outside the camp until they relented and were allowed back in after being examined by a priest. They could always see the Tabernacle from outside to compare with their own individual loneliness. Dichotomy. Today we imprison without this dichotomy. We simply allow people to return to their thoughts and actions without the possibilty to change. We dont have the money or resources to correct the damage society creates.
