We are to listen to the voice of God within ourselves, @Grace Digital network, not Jesus who was God's son who lived and demonstrated "The Way" for man to return to God, he spoke "The Truth" God wants man to know and lived the "New Birth Life" he told us in Matthew 19:29 & John 3::3-8.
Today it's the Church — "the called out of the world" — who are supposed to be Born Again into a life similar to Jesus' so much so that we live circumspect of the world's lifestyle like Jesus did.

When HE said tonight you shall be with me in paradise ,that was GOD talking (spiritual utterance) The thief never went to heaven with Christ that night.
Christ's resurrection was 3 days later and he never ascended until after that.and the thief couldn't go to heaven before Christ as is written :
And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven.
John 3:13.
The thief ask " REMEMBER ME.
And the lion (GOD)replied .
It was the memory of him that would be in heaven with GOD
As is true for everyone .
Christ,while in the spirit,while on the cross,
Spoke in tongues
Spoke spiritual utterance’s ,and
Spoke prophecy.
This shows that to receive these gifts,you must be chosen, and you must have made the adequate sacrifice.
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him.
