There was a group of guys from Getaway magazine who stayed at the inflow from the Zambesi river into lake Kariba, on the Zimbabwean side around 1996/1997 (This was shortly before the land-grabs which turned the country into a complete shithole).
They were trolling for Tiger fish when one of the guys decided to let his legs hang in the water.
These waters are infested with crocodiles and fucking monster-sized hippos. So of course the crocs noticed and promptly proceeded to turn his leg into croc shit.
The guys wrote the whole thing up into a guestbook in the chalet they were staying in… the same chalet we visited weeks later.
They signed off their guestbook entry with the line: “Greatest holiday ever!”.
Fucking.Legends.
