Be careful not to forgot that God wanted Samson to be Samson. There was a specific dynamic between the people of God and the Philistines that called for a man who was not so much of a gracious leader but still a pivotal part in God's Will to deliver the Israelites out of the hands of the Philistines. Samson's rash and lewd behavior was clearly not an example, that the Israelites might know obviously not to try to imitate him, nevertheless His trust in The Lord allowed him to make decisions which drew the Philistines near him so that he could kill many of them, which although was not a benefit to Samson as he died in the process, it was a huge benefit to God's people. It is important, when studying the Scriptures, to remember to identify the will of God as well, why God allows certain things to be, lest we be judgmental of our brothers and sisters who God loves and is using for a purpose as He is with us throughout our entire lives.
Judges 14:3-4 "But his father and mother said to him, “Is there not a woman among the daughters of your relatives, or among all our people, that you must go to take a wife from the uncircumcised Philistines?” But Samson said to his father, “Get her for me, for she is right in my eyes.”
His father and mother did not know that it was from the Lord, for he was seeking an opportunity against the Philistines. At that time the Philistines ruled over Israel.
Judges 16:30 "And Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines.” Then he bowed with all his strength, and the house fell upon the lords and upon all the people who were in it. So the dead whom he killed at his death were more than those whom he had killed during his life."
Tell me why people should be concerned about things that happened what, 2000 years ago. I believe we have things here and now to worry about more. I wish you Bible thumpers would just keep thy religion to thy self like George Carlin said. What does King James version of the Bible mean? That a bunch of people wrote the Bible the way King James wanted it. Which means what? That has lttle to do with the truth of things.
