Ok, upon going back and rewatching and doing my own personal torah portion study alongside this one… I'm realizing that we just kinda nonchalantly read through 19:20-22 without any connecting scriptures… I'm scratching my head right now. I'm really struggling to understand these verses because most other times, the couple was stoned to get the evil out of the camp. I understand that she is a bond maid so she's in service to someone, which would've effected the one who covered her debt for whatever reason, and she has an obligation to fulfill there. The "owner" would've been left with the debt unsettled which would've been unfair. But I'm struggling to understand why in most other cases, the transgressing pair would be killed and in this case it's not looked at as severely. I tried searching out some corresponding scripture references, which I'm not doing to great at with this one, so a little elaboration would be great! Much love to you and Victoria, brother Adam. Please help a sister out here! Or anyone who may have some insight.
Excellent work Adam
Thank you.
Leviticus 19:19 is the law of seperation. is "remez" correct? the alleghorical meaning is: be separated from the strangers. deut 22:9. 2 corinthians 6:14 do not be bound together with unbelievers for what partnership have righteousness and lawlesness, or what fellowship has light with darkness?
Do in laws become like parents to their child’s spouse? Are we to honor them as our own mother and father?
