Grant wrote furiously while a former staff member and his son engaged in extensive fact-checking. Grant finished his memoirs in July of 1885 and croaked a few days later. His wife, who lived 'till 1902, received just under $14 million in 2022 dollars over the course of her life in royalties for the memoirs, again at 70% which was completely unheard of at the time and was a personal favor from Mark Twain. The Personal Memoirs of US Grant, a firsthand account from the top ranking officer during the most destructive war in US History, are the most significant work of non-fiction in United States literary history. Meanwhile the Obamas get a $68 million dollar to write their "memoirs" which contain nothing you couldn't find in newspaper articles. Total bullshit.
I'm really not a fan of either side. Wanting to be elected should disqualify you from BEING elected. That said, Trump will be remembered as THE worst president EVER. He had NO experience in governing. He has NO education or desire to serve anyone but himself. Joe's continual obsession with putting down democrats is bizarre. Republicans have become FAR worse having abandoned conservatism completely in favor of serving corporate interests and pandering to the super wealthy. Tax give aways directly exchanged for campaign contributions once called "kick backs". Love you Joe but STOP shilling for the "used to be conservatives".
