A lot of people kept saying Ruiz was gonna destroy AJ in the rematch but it was very clear to me he wasn’t taking the rematch seriously, all the posts on Instagram of him with new cars, a new mansion, drinking at parties and going to fancy restaurants was such a red flag. Especially the day before the fight when he weighed in at 283 pounds and refused to take his t shirt off. Ruiz was already 267 pounds in the first fight which was his all time heaviest weight. Keeping in mind, he’s fighting AJ at nearly 300 pounds whilst AJ was only 237 and 4 inches taller. How did people expect Ruiz to be quick enough on his feet. This is a perfect example of a missed opportunity and not taking advantage of his opportunities!
To put things in perspective a boxer named Floyd Mayweather would go to the club, drink seltzer water until 4 AM, then jog home. Then he would spar.
"The good doggo barks the loudest."
He was never slim. Some people.dont know how to handle the fame
I agree with Rogan, It was probably a mind set. He came from nothing and I finally made it to Champion . He could enjoy the money, and if he lost the re-match wth , he is still getting millions more. He obviously does not think of himself as an athlete but a brawler. Make your money last Ruiz, don't blow it too fast. You can always brag that you were a champ once to your homies. Don't be too generous with your money Ruiz, be like ex champ Holmes, invest your money wisely, let your money make you more money. Just saying.
