Jasher and Jubilees are not mutually compatible, they offer different accounts of Cain's death. In Jasher, Cain gets killed in a hunting accident whereas in Jubilees he dies as a result of his house falling down on him. I'm leaning towards Jasher being the fake one because it doesn't mention the fall of angels from Genesis 6 and them producing Nephilim. I believe that when the Bible authors say "Isn't it written in the book of Jasher", they do so in a mocking fashion because they thought of that book as it being just a collection of Hebrew folk tales that were not really inspired by the Spirit.
