  1. And the Apostle Paul was the last desciple to be called by Jesus  Luke 18:22. I believe he was also present at the time of the baptism of Jesus Christ, because he would have known about John the Baptist and everything he said concerning the Messiah, which could have prompted him, as a Pharisee of pharisees,  to seek out validation from him in Luke 18.

    PS.
If you don't mind,  I would like to give scriptural references:
    1) the rich young ruler's main concern was to "inherit eternal life " vs 18. He judged himself worthy because he believed he had been obeying all the laws.
    2) He had been listening to Jesus's teachings and was convinced that he was a man of authority,  though, he wasn't ready to accept the fact He could be the Messiah,  so he approached Jesus in a condescending manner- as he was a pharisee and they believed themselves to be above everyone else.  So, he sucked up to Jesus by calling Him "Good Master ". Jesus saw through him and responded in a way that means He was God, if Paul believed that He was good, and went on to poke holes in his legalistic beliefs- he believed he never committed adultery, but Jesus taught that to just look on a maiden  lustfully already constituted a breaking of the law, so was bearing false witness,  which they were notorious for but wouldn't admit to, sobwas stealing from the temple coffers in the name of doing business for God Galatians 1:14; as was not honoring their fathers and mothers in the name of bringing offerings to the temple etc. And finally, told him to get rid of the source of his pride: his wealth! He wasn't ready to even exchange that to gain eternal life, which Jesus understood and gave him time before answering his calling  vs 22.
He began to follow Jesus from then onwards just to get physical proof on Him as a fraud.  I believe he was behind all the questions to get Jesus to break the laws- including paying taxes (Jesus was called the Son of David,  David and his house have been tax exempt by King Saul, for slaying Goliath, by this they're negating His relationship with King David,  hence, cannot be the Messiah, they even insult Him of being born of fornication, as Mary got pregnant before getting married John 8:41 etc.)
    3) I  believe he spearheaded the group that deceived Judas to betray Him, and those they bought to shout "crucify him " over and over again until Jesus was crucified on the cross. He really did persecute Jesus  and by so doing,  get to follow Him as other desciples, learning from  His teachings all along,  even sneaking behind to witness the last supper to confidently say he received it of the Lord 1 Corinthians 11:23, to make hin an Apostle born out of due time – long after his calling 1 Corinthians 15:8.
    3) His anger made him turn his his back on his own life, and began to persecute everyone link to Jesus,  from Stephen up till the time he fell of his high horse- so to speak  and was forced to come to reality of who Jesus Christ was, which he knew all along but his legalistic mind was resisting it: he finally called Jesus "Lord", though subconsciously,  but he always knew He was Lord when he heard His voice again  Acts 9:4-5.
After this he became so over zealous enough to begin to let everyone know that "Jesus was the Son of God, and the Messiah" vs 20,22. He began to immediately experience persecution himself,  which got him to Arabia,  where he had ample time and opportunity to review all the proof he had collected while he was persecuting Jesus 2 Timothy 4:13. (That was why he could write with so much understanding of the Lord in all his epistles).
    4) Philippians 3 was where he finally came to terms with the fact that all his wealth could not be exchanged for the knowledge of Christ and gaining eternal life- his all life pursuit! This came at a price- he lost all his fortune,  that he wasn't willing to give up at that time:
Luke 18:18-30, but now forgetting all and pressing towards the prize of the "high calling " of Jesus, as he now sees it!
That was why it was easy for the other desciples to extend to him the right hand of fellowship as the Apostle of the gentiles Galatians 2:9.
That was alsi why he could withstand the other desciples when they were preaching the law and circumcision together with the grace of God in Christ Jesus in Acts 15.
The gospel of the salvation of our souls is simply by grace through faith in the sacrificial death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the completed work of the cross that no one can add to or remove from by doing good or bad. The Holy Spirit was sent to guide,  teach, interpret and keep until the end John 14:26. Thus He quickenes the believers and takes them all up at rapture. Until then, we give ourselves to studying the scriptures to make ourselves approved unto God as workmen that need not be ashamed,  rightly dividing the word of truth-daily!
    PS
The Apostle Peter disobeyed the command of the risen Savior, who told them specifically to waith for Him in Galilee. Jesus never left any injunctions for a replacement of lost desciple- Judas.
Peter used divination or casting of lots, which at best would be used by only priests,  and he was no priest.
The desciple that he chose, using the name of God, in casting lots, Acts 1:24, was not acknowledged by God- he had kicked God and Christ out  by this singular act.
On the contrary,  the other desciple that wasn't rejected by casting of the lots- Mattias/Silas, became a companion of the one chosen by the Lord Himself- Saul/Paul-  Acts 9:15,15:22; 16:16-25;  Colossians 1:25, and wa mightily used for the furtherance  of the gospel.
Compared with acts 13:2, when the Holy Spirit had come as promised, He was responsible for calling anyone He chose into the ministry Acts 13:2.
Peter simply acted outside of the will of the Lord!
His last Epistle (to Timothy), concluded the spoken/ written Word of God. Which He began to speak by His Son- The Word of God.  Hebrews 1:14. And He then sent His Holy Spirit, who took over God's communication by His Son,  the saints,  the believers, till He be taken up with them.

  2. Peter lied not once but three times about he knowing Jesus. Yet Jesus used Peter in opening the way for the people to be chosen to be members of God's kingdom's ruling body.
Paul too was one such who was used by Jesus.

1 Timothy 1:12  I am grateful to Christ Jesus our Lord, who imparted power to me, because he considered me faithful by assigning me to a ministry, 13 although formerly I was a blasphemer and a persecutor and an insolent man. Nevertheless, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and with a lack of faith.

  3. I know God, I walk in covenant with God and I Love God. I fear God as well and that is the beginning of Love because until you fear disobeying God and causing God to look upon you in shame so you feel horrible then you can not love Him. I started this walk when I was 32, to look for God. I started to actually begin to find God when I was 39 and sealed myself to God as the gospel tells us to, those of us who listen to the gospel teacher and not the ones who came after him, know to take up the commandments of God and to seek out our roots back to Abraham and to Moses and Yehoshua and the prophets so we become firm in knowledge of what GOD ALONE asked of us. It took me several years of fighting sin and the devil by obeying God. I fought the sin out of me with God's help, by his instructions in the written word. It is a very narrow road and as the mattan/Matthew gospel says very few will find it. We have to fight Satan and the whole world that serves him in sin in order to get out and the one who will help is God alone because we can't trust anyone else. I am with God, God provides for myself and my family and yes there is absolutely evidence BUT not until you absolutely come clean, in thought, word and deed, the absolute opposite of all the lying religions. The gospel was sent down to free us from sin by sending us to our teacher and if you reject it then you are freed from God into sin perpetually and to death spiritually from God which as I can now see is absolutely hell on earth, your light you pretend to have is absolutely darkness caused by your unwillingness to even try to obey God. I speak to 99% of the population. If you can't put everyone first after God and stop yourself from all sin THEN YOUR NOT WORTHY AND YOU ARE ALREADY FINISHED BEFORE YOU EVEN STARTED.
So come out of all sun, take up the commandments and begin your battle, call to GOD ALONE, LEARN YOUR ROOTS, BE GOD'S PEOPLE. FIGHT SATAN WHO IS THE SINNERS INNER VOICE, THE CONSCIENCE THAT LEADS YOU TO HURT YOU, that's not you, it's Satan the deceiver. If you come to God and pass the trials cleansing yourself by obedience then GOD WILL BECOME YOUR CONSCIENCE AND YOU WILL LOVE GOD AND HATE SIN, SATAN WILL FLEE FROM YOU.
    SO there it is.
Peace, the ball in in your court
Be wary of this world, it is the valley of death, you need God's light and God doesn't dwell with sin or sinners. Not until they begin the journey to stop sin.
    😀😉
