Those were ANGELS appearing in human form who came to Abraham. Envoys speak for the one who SENT them.
Two of those angels went on to save Lot.
Genesis 19:1 The TWO ANGELS arrived at Sodʹom by evening, and Lot was sitting in the gate of Sodʹom. When Lot saw them, he got up to meet them and bowed down with his face to the earth.

Moses recorded those incidents knew that these were angels SENT BY JEHOVAH.
Humans can never set eyes on God and continue to exist (Exodus 33:20).
John confirmed that those were ANGELS because he wrote in unambiguous language:
'No man has SEEN God at ANY TIME.' – 1 John 4:12,20. Which even rules Jesus out from being God at ANY or even SOME TIME.
Paul refers to this incident with Abraham and says:
Hebrews 13:2 Do not forget hospitality, for through it some unknowingly ENTERTAINED ANGELS.
