Well, he also forgot to mention how the Marines offered the seal team a 17 Golf and they refused to take it because it was heavy, they offered the seal team a SAW and once again said no because it was heavy.
The most important part of this story is how they were found. The Taliban had already seen their helo insert, doesn't help the fact that they left the goddamn rope at the LZ, and the goat herders were sent to distract and confirm their pos. The Taliban already knew.
There was no drawn out battle, at one point there was nothing then at the next moment it was an ambush by around 8 men. They got jumped by PKMs on the high ground. Marcus Luttrell and his seal team were idiots. So much could have prevented this is they just listened to the professionals.

Met Marcus at SeaTac before i Knew much about op Red Wings. I could tell he had been thrugh some shit but ,thank god for men like Marcus ,and more so those of his companions that didnt come home .
I am sure he would rather have not gone through the experience what he went through and NOT had a movie about his those experiences.
