This is not how the operation went. Luttrell had almost all full mags, WALKED to the chopper that was there to rescue him (he DID NOT crawl to the extraction), he was not as badly injured like the book or movie states, and told the men that rescued him that his whole team was dead; which the higher brass then decide to slow roll the rescue of the other team mates. Luttrell ran away from the fight, instead of staying with his squad and fighting with them. 10 days later after Luttrell was rescued the last man (Axel) of the squad was found resting on the base a tree at the SAR or their Rally Point and it was stated that he had only been dead 1-3 days. Meaning he was alive and died because Luttrell told higher ups that his whole team was dead already. That whole movie is BS, and told the way it is because the Navy Seals are a brand for the Navy at this point. Seals are the highest form of recruitment for the Navy.
