I grew up in Bisbee. It is an isolated (but lovely) town on the bottom border of Arizona. You have to go there to get there. It is not near anywhere. So what Doug is saying is not unusual for a resident of that town. You can live very happily there as long as you don't need to go to places like Home Depot or Walmart. If you can get by just buying necessities at the small local stores, then you can easily stay in Bisbee without going anywhere else, and it is an interesting enough town that you don't get bored.
