I grew up in customer service. The first thing that was drilled into me was, "DO NOT USE JARGON WITH THE CUSTOMER!". So I get really, REALLY irritated with people like Eric Weinstein, who is BRILLIANT, but his communications skills are SHIT.
Hearing academics cry blows my mind. Even if you don't graduate from Harvard or Yale or Tulane or Wake Forest or Stanford you have a leg up on 99.9% of society. You're locked in YOU WILL ALWAYS be able to find another college to complete your studies and cash in on the Ivy League franternal secret pipeline. I couldn't give a fu@k. Listening to the man who manages Peter Thiel's money boohoo about not getting his due or complaining about power dynamics sets my teeth on glass. But when those stubborn old farts die and a new generation come in and those ''crazy fringe'' ideas are looked at and accepted, often the world changes. We should really listen to the people with the''fringe'' ideas, instead we banish them, cut their funding and ridicule them to silence. The world would be very different if we atleast would hear them out.
