This guy is not in touch at all with the lives of people who do not live in privilege. Overall, I think he is smart, educated and knows a lot about a lot of things, but doesn't have a fucking clue about the lives of people not living in privilege. His idea of culture is what ever he believes. His idea of right and wrong is based on 'toughness' like he is, right? Typical oppositional politics, no empathy because that would mean he is weak.
I agree with the framework of what Dan is saying but populism comes about because of real issues that arent addressed by the ruling class such as China trade relations or the fact not one single wall street banker was prosecuted for fraud leading to the Financial Collapse in 2008. I am concerned that Dan's position simply ignores those very real issues
