Kind of late. I think jealousy & laziness were Cain's downfall. With context to economic values between crops vs cattle in the early days of agriculture, cattle were way more valuable & way more harder to manage (taming & breeding) than crops (gathering). In many references, Cain's "sacrifice" was "fruits", which probably something he picked randomly from his surroundings. Being the firstborn, Cain supposed to be able to learn from his younger brother about animal husbandry & combine it with crops knowledge, but he chose not to.

God should’ve accepted cain since he gave what he could. Now look, his rejection caused a man to kill. As is the case with many humans.

And god is weird because why did he want to kill an animal as a sacrifice but in the bible it says that god saves & protects all animals??
