I got to tell you Joe all religions are wacky! Every religion is a cult. It doesn't mean they don't have truth in them, it's the high demand philosophies of the religion that makes him a cult. Heck Joe you and I have a cult in common. Jiu Jitsu is my favorite cult, I am also Mormon. I got to say, the tithing I paid to my Jiu-Jitsu professor matters more to me than paying tithing to have Mormon Temples Built. With how much money the Mormon Church makes from it's investments, they really don't need to collect anybody's tithing anymore.

Joseph Smith didn't tell the first vision story until 1832 (12 years after the supposed event in 1820). There is an on going cash prize to anyone that can prove Joseph claimed that story in childhood. From my point of view he claimed that story to bolster his authority as an adult.

He told that story WAY LATER, as an adult, that he was 14 when he found the plates. Everyone gets stuck on the fact that this was started by a 14 year old. Nope, it was started by an adult who told a completely made up story that he said happened when he was 14…
It’s easy to Say Joseph Smith was a con man and made it all up and that it’s all bullshit… And that church members are gullible… But if you look deeper into both sides each have strong arguments… and the book itself has so much depth and detail it would be next to impossible for anyone let alone Joseph smith uneducated To dictate the book entirely while looking into a hat… just some food for thought.. ps I’m not an active member
