This is the first conversation in which Lex looks alive, has vitality, seems awake, alert, and normal, and thereby casts some doubt on his nerdiness. He's clearly interested and enthusiastic about talking about Elon Musk and AI, his area of professional expertise. But in another clip from this conversation, he asks Joe about the definition and connotations of the word nerd, which he will always be, partly because outside of his field of professional expertise, he's boring.
