Andrew Yang clearly states that the timeframe for self driving trucks or other automation is happening in the next 4 years, but that UBI is the first stepping stone that will be needed when it starts to emerge even more severe! Also stating that the jobs will just shift from Detroit to SF is exactly what Andrew Yang is saying, but he is also showing the data that not all truckers might be interested in learning to code and that we are actually really bad at retraining … So disappointing that Joe doesn't push back at all, like he never had Andrew Yang on …
Trucks will be the last thing to be automated, because it is also a manual labor job with changing tires, repairs & keep up safety protocol. They admit a person will always be with ruck
If the timescale is wrong that still makes it something we need to deal with.
You dont need automation phase out all human jobs. All you need is a few percent of jobs phased out by automation and it will have tremendous ripple effect to the country.
