The big question is why must a king slaughter everyone and everything. Woman, children and animals. Today , that would be a war crime. It is difficult when this story is mentioned and we criticize the king for not following Gods rule. Do we understand. Why was a sacrifice so awful. Why did God punish his king and not forgive him.
The fall of man led to a cycle of self abuse. God tries to break the cycle but man is weak.
In the beginning of the fall of man, Adam and Eve give out 2 thoughts that mirror the tree of knowledge of good and evil. Evil kills good thought and is forced to wonder the Earth.
God replaces the goodness by giving us a soul through which God delivers to us good thought. We still have free choice. Over time, the lazy and ignorant man choses the easy option. God helps out by destroying enemies of Isreal but man always slides back.
The problem is the snake. It pulls us down.
The situation is seen all around us.
In society you have very good open minded people who wish well on everyone. They are attacked by people who see them as weak. Other people watch the attack and do nothing or join in. People fear being attacked for the same reason so sode with the aggressor saying they had no choice. They simply protected their families best interest. Narcissist and flying monkey's. The snake wins and creates a society of slaves. Pharoah.
So God says that the leader of Isreal must kill a dangerous society of narcissists. You cannot be nice as they will attack again. Saul is weak. God says because you have done this I will make an example of you to show what happens when you let evil live. God allows evil to torment the king.
Not only did the king let evil reside within Isreal but he sacrificed the evil's animals to God. This represents giving up evil ideas to God as a gift. Farmed animals are the product of mans work. Food is thought.
What is sin. Sin is thinking for yourself. The snake enticed Eve to steal from God so that it could be independent. The link from heaven to Earth is broken by Eve falling away and down to the level of the snake. The connection to God now connects the snake and forms a circle. What is born in the circle, stays in the circle. God tries to break the repeating cycle of events by breaking the circle open. Every time He tries to wake man up to the curse of the snake, the snake wraps itself around Adam more tightly. Its easier not to fight as it cause pain. The snake says man is wonderful and must conquer the world as king. The snake then feeds off mans insecurity because he does not think in God. Man gets lost in his own thought so God sends messangers to tell him whats gone wrong. Man says Its Gods fault because He could just use his power to save us.
Everyone becomes so individual that the world values fall apart. The snake looses power through this. Hence the dream in Daniel about the statue.
