Not all people that gamble are looking to be rich. I live in California and my apartment manager said my rent will be increasing 8% every year, which is way more than my income increases. Some people gamble just to have a little extra cushion and to relieve stress from paying bills. Also, the stock market is a gamble, so is investing in crypto currency, gold, and other metals. No work involved there either.
