Even though I live in the same culture as everyone else, I'm in my own world and I do things very differently than people expect….. There are many days when I tell myself I have to do something like a chore or something before I'm allowed to eat so I won't eat unless I feel like I've earned it. Many therapists I've had can't fathom why I would do that even though I explain this same thing to them, like they cannot fathom why I refuse to live an easy life. I can't stand people like that because they can't even feed themselves even if they was on a farm and it's so aggravating…. No matter how much money you have, nobody is going to be your personal chef in a SHTF situation so you better be able to collect and cook food, go a few days without food and be in good physical condition or you're screwed. 😂
We all suffer. Only the main difference between us & other animals (besides obvious stuff) is we can Choose what type of suffering we take on. I can talk at length, but basically take on meaningful/ fulfilling types of suffering. I'm not saying "go build a car", but just even a bit of exploring/ learning/ turning off Netflix to read a book for 15-30 minutes, can get the ball rolling big time
Edit: and if you don't find flow/ feels like hard work to do Anything, you haven't found your niche yet. There's something out there for Everyone
Don't judge a book by this 5-minute clip! It really can change your life, by either teaching you things you didn't know, or confirming things that you did, and giving you better words to express them. Well done Mr. Easter- well done.
As a PE teacher, I'm happy to say I watch students struggle with pushing their comfort zone whenever they come to PE. Their day in their classroom is spent seated at their desk with a chromebook in front of them. So when they come to my class they're like, WHAT IS THIS GLORIOUS PLACE. Watching a student realize that challenging themselves is a good thing and they like the feeling of it is the best part of the job. The confidence they build from it is cool to watch.
